Street Typist Brings Tales Of The Unexpected To Harrogate

Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival is taking storytelling to the streets this weekend with stories specially written to order – for free.

Street typist Adam E Holdon will be bringing his unique storytelling skills to Harrogate, popping up at four different locations this Saturday and Sunday.

Complete with clacking typewriter, Adam will be setting up in spaces around town where people can give him three words and a name and he will create a personalised story for them on the spot.

Alongside bestselling authors, broadcasters and well-known names, this month’s Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival, which runs until 25 October, is taking storytelling beyond the traditional author talk, with a series of events that put books and stories into some decidedly unexpected places.

Where to find Adam this weekend:

Saturday, 17 October

Ake and Humphris 10.30am – 1.30pm

Yorkshire Hotel (outside on John Street weather dependent, otherwise inside) 2pm – 4.30pm

Sunday, 18 October

The Crown Hotel 10.30am – 1pm

Starling 2pm – 4pm
