Out Of The Darkness - A Walk Of Hope 2026
On Sunday, April 12th, The Jordan Legacy is hosting a fundraising and awareness-raising walk on the Stray in Harrogate.
This walk is in memory of those who have died by suicide, like Jordan and aims to raise awareness about the continuing increase in suicide deaths in the UK and North Yorkshire. According to real-time surveillance data, suicide deaths rose by 31.4% between January and November 2025.
In collaboration with West Wellbeing Suicide Prevention in Northern Ireland, we are inviting people from across North Yorkshire and further afield, to walk 3 laps (approx 5kms) around the famous Stray in Harrogate, as part of a powerful community event, bringing people together to walk in memory of the more than 7000+ men, women and children who die by suicide in the UK each year and to raise awareness also, about the almost 1,000,000 people impacted by those losses every year.
