Management Buyout Secures Long Term Independence for Accountancy Firm

Harrogate based chartered accountancy firm Wild & Co has completed a management buyout as part of a long-term succession plan that will see senior leader Tasha Jacques take ownership of the business.

The move ensures the firm remains independently owned while providing a clear and structured transition for founders Graham and Liz Wild, who will both remain actively involved in the business for the next four years.

Liz said the buyout had been carefully planned to provide continuity for clients, staff and partners, with no changes to day-to-day contacts, services or the firm’s client-focused approach.

“This is very much about long-term stability and continuity,” said Liz. “We’ve always believed in planning ahead and we wanted to make sure the future of the firm was secured in a way that protects our independence, the interactive way we work with clients and the relationships we’ve built over many years.”

Tasha has been a key member of the firm’s senior leadership team for several years, having joined the firm back in 2019.

Liz said: “Tasha has played a central role in shaping our strategy, culture and client service model and we are delighted she will be taking things forward.

“Tasha shares our values around personal service, integrity and long-term relationships and this transition allows us to support her into ownership while we remain hands-on in the business, ensuring a smooth and confident path forward.”

The decision to pursue an internal management buyout reflects the firm’s commitment to remaining privately owned.

“Independence gives us the freedom to put clients first, make long-term decisions and maintain the personal approach we’re known for,” said Liz. “This structure protects that and means our clients will continue working with the same people, receiving the same level of service, with the added reassurance of a clear and secure future for the firm.”

Tasha said the buyout marks an exciting new chapter built on strong foundations.

“I feel incredibly privileged to take on ownership of a business with such a strong reputation and client base,” she said.

“Because I’ve been part of the leadership team for many years, this isn’t about changing direction, it’s about continuing what we do well, supporting our clients and building for the future with the same team and values at the core.”

Graham and Liz will continue to work closely with clients and the team during the transition period and until 2030, ensuring knowledge transfer, continuity and ongoing strategic guidance.
