Disability Action Yorkshire Bids Farewell to Long-Serving Chair and Treasurer Following Major Period of Transformation
Harrogate-based charity, Disability Action Yorkshire has announced the retirement of its Chair, Neil Revely and Treasurer, Alison Craggs, with both leaders having served in their roles for nine years.
Their tenures that have seen the organisation navigate some of the most significant challenges and changes in its history, which dates back to 1937.
Jackie Snape, Chief Executive of Disability Action Yorkshire, commented:
"At our AGM on 29 January we were sad to see our Chair and Treasurer both retire after nine years of service. They have been with the charity through an extraordinary period which has included a global pandemic and our major transition from residential care to care and support in the community.
We will miss their skills and knowledge and sincerely thank them for their commitment and support over the last nine years."
Under their stewardship, the charity strengthened its commitment to empowering disabled people to achieve their own life aspirations through innovative training, assistive technology, and independent living solutions. This included the landmark transition away from the residential model at 34 Claro Road toward St Roberts Grove - a supported living development which opened in 2024. The new development was built to help disabled people have greater choice and control over their daily lives.
Disability Action Yorkshire remains dedicated to removing barriers to independence and will continue to build on the progress made during the tenures of the outgoing board members.
