Harrogate Town Plan Forum Update

Harrogate Town Councillors to meet with the Town Plan Forum to take over preparation of the Neighbourhood Plan

Harrogate Town Plan Forum is a business and community-based organisation which started a Town Plan process to compliment North Yorkshire Council’s emerging Local Plan.

The Forum has researched a substantial amount of information about what is good and bad about the town and what should be encouraged or changed by a future Town Plan. When Harrogate Town Council was created earlier this year they became responsible for producing a Town Plan and it is now time for the Forum to ‘hand over the baton’.

A Neighbourhood Plan Group has now been formed by the town council, made up of town councillors and members of the Forum. That group has already started to manage the process which will lead to our new Town Plan.

There is a meeting at 6.30pm on 8 December 2025 at West Park United Reform Church, when Town Councillors and Forum members will meet and discuss the next stage. If you live or work in the town of Harrogate this is an opportunity to join in and be part of a process which will identify a vision for the town and how it should be shaped in the future. The Forum will continue to support the work of the Town Council and encourages you to attend the meeting, register an interest, and influence the development of our town.

Although this invitation to attend the meeting has been sent to dozens of community groups, business interests and other organisations who are part of the Forum. Individuals are encouraged to take an active role and attend meetings and the Chamber of Commerce members represent an important part of our town’s community.

There is no requirement to confirm attendance at this meeting but it would be helpful to manage numbers if you reply to:
