Winners Revealed of 2025 Harrogate Christmas Shop Window Competition
The Harrogate Christmas Shop Window Competition saw yet another year of record entries, beating 2024 with over 40 entries from town centre businesses.
The annual competition offers the opportunity to businesses in the town to show off their creative skills, whilst adding to the festive feel of the town over the Christmas period.
Harrogate Business Improvement District continue to lead on the contest, with support from the Harrogate District Chamber of Commerce. The categories included shops, pubs and restaurants, services and hotels.
The annual awards evening was held at The Yorkshire Hotel on Wednesday 10th December, saw Weetons crowned the overall winner, as well as claiming the top prize in the shops category for their Grinch display, designed and handcrafted by talented store manager, Jess.
The winner beat stiff opposition from category winners Starling in pubs and restaurants with their hand drawn festive display, alongside Nyne Harrogate who decorated their window with giant festive hair scrunchies in the services category and White Hart Hotel and Apartments in the hotels category, with incredible lighting dressing the building.
A number of discretionary awards were also handed out to well deserved winners. Ruffords and Smiths of Harrogate were both awarded Best New Entry. Best Illumination went to White Hart Hotel and Apartments for their dazzling display. The Cheeseboard took home Best Innovation for their ‘Twelve Days of Cheesemas’ display, Best Spirit of Christmas was awarded to The Yorkshire Soap Company for their festive scene and animatronic polar bear.
New for 2025 saw the Best Independent and Best Large Company discretionary awards. 27 West Park Antiques took home the award for Best Independent whilst joint winners Bettys and Pandora were awarded Best Large Company.

Harrogate BID is a not-for-profit organisation, funded for by businesses in a dedicated area, with an aim to improve the area in which those businesses trade within.
The BID was launched in 2019 and received a successful ballot which saw its second term begin in January 2024 for a further five years.
