Stratos Reaffirms Independence and Continuity Following Rebrand from PD Tax

New identity reflects the firm’s growth and strategic direction while maintaining the same trusted team and personalised approach  Leeds, UK – 27th May 2026

Following our recent rebrand from PD Tax to Stratos, we have received a number of questions from clients, contacts and the wider market about what the change means.

One question has come up more than once:

Has the business been acquired or “sold out” to private equity?

We want to be clear. Stratos remains fully independent.

The rebrand does not represent a sale, acquisition, private equity investment or change in ownership. It marks a natural step in the firm’s ongoing growth and evolution, reflecting our strategic direction and continued commitment to delivering proactive, thoughtful tax advice that goes beyond compliance.

“Clients and contacts have quite rightly asked what sits behind the change,” said Paul Davison, Managing Director at Stratos. “The answer is simple. We’re still here. The same team, ownership and leadership remain in place, and so do the relationships we’ve built with our clients. This is not a change in who we are. It is a clearer expression of where we are going.”

Continuity for clients

While the name and brand have changed, the fundamentals of the business remain firmly in place.

Ownership, management, services and client relationships are unchanged. Clients can expect the same partner-led approach, tailored advice and long-term thinking that have always defined the firm.

The move to Stratos reflects our desire to better represent our position as a strategic adviser to ambitious clients, as well as the continued growth of the firm. The new identity provides a stronger platform for the future while staying true to the values and ethos on which the business was built.

“This is an evolution, not a replacement,” added Paul Davison. “We have grown as a firm, and our new identity reflects that progress. Our independence, our approach and our commitment to delivering highly personalised advice remain exactly the same.”

Stratos sees this as a significant milestone in the firm’s journey, one that reinforces its independence and strengthens its ability to support clients with clarity, insight and confidence.

What has changed?

The name, brand and positioning have evolved to better reflect the firm we are today and the direction we are heading in.

Stratos better represents our focus on strategic tax advisory, long-term thinking and proactive support for clients.

What has not changed?

The core of the business remains the same.

The same team continues to support clients. The same ownership and management remain in place. The same services continue to be delivered. The same personalised, thoughtful and partner-led approach remains at the heart of the firm.
