Scamp & Dude Set To Open First Northern Store In Harrogate

Harrogate town centre is preparing to welcome another exciting addition to its retail offering, as British fashion brand Scamp & Dude gets ready to open its first permanent store in northern England on Friday, 9th October.

The B Corp-certified fashion brand is set to open its doors at 2 James Street at 9:30 AM, bringing its distinctive womenswear collections to one of Harrogate's main shopping streets.

The new two-floor store, offering more than 2,100 sq ft of retail space, marks a significant milestone for Scamp & Dude as the company celebrates its 10th anniversary.

To celebrate the opening, Scamp & Dude has announced a series of special activities and giveaways, including a Bolt Hunt around Harrogate on Friday 9th October.

The celebrations will continue on Saturday, 10th October, when the first 10 customers arriving from 9:30 AM will receive a free goody bag. Shoppers will also have the chance to win an additional surprise gift, with a golden bolt hidden in-store for one lucky customer to discover.

Situated opposite Harrogate's railway station, the new location will welcome both local shoppers and visitors travelling from further afield, adding to the town's mix of independent businesses and established retail brands.

Founded in 2016 by Jo Tutchener Sharp OBE, Scamp & Dude has built a loyal following through its colourful clothing collections, community-focused approach and commitment to supporting people facing difficult times.

The opening follows more than three years of searching for the perfect location in Harrogate, with founder and CEO Jo Tutchener Sharp OBE previously describing the town as the ideal permanent home for the brand in the North.

The store will feature Scamp & Dude's signature Bolt Room, a private fitting space which customers can book in advance to enjoy a shopping experience with friends, complete with complimentary refreshments.

The brand also plans to introduce a year-round programme of events and community activities, creating opportunities for customers to come together beyond the traditional shopping experience.

Alongside its fashion collections, Scamp & Dude is recognised for its charitable initiatives, having donated more than £4.4 million in cash and products through its programmes.

Its Super Scarf Mission has provided more than 93,000 scarves to women starting chemotherapy, while more than 10,000 Superhero Sleep Buddies have been donated to children who are seriously ill or have lost a parent.

Jason Maxwell, Harrogate BID CEO, said:

"It's fantastic to welcome Scamp & Dude to Harrogate, particularly as the brand has chosen our town for its first permanent store in the North.

"James Street is a key part of Harrogate's shopping offering, and seeing a recognised British brand invest in such a prominent location is really encouraging.

"Scamp & Dude brings something different to the town centre, not just through its clothing collections, but also through its community-focused approach and charitable work. We're delighted to see the business opening its doors and look forward to welcoming its customers to Harrogate."

The arrival of Scamp & Dude represents another positive addition to Harrogate's retail scene, further strengthening the town centre's appeal as a shopping destination.

The new Scamp & Dude store opens Friday, 9th October at 9:30 AM at 2 James Street, Harrogate.
