Horticap Is Seeking Applicants For The Role Of Trustee
Horticap, a charity which was established in 1984, provides horticultural training for students, who are all adults with learning or physical disabilities. While attending Horticap our students benefit from supportive environment to build skills, confidence and independence through training in horticulture, related craftwork and community engagement.
We welcome candidates who would be willing to serve as a member of our Board of Trustees, in providing strategic leadership, sound governance and oversight to ensure Horticap fulfils its core objective.
As a member of our Board of Trustees you would be asked to attend 8 meetings per year, contribute actively in the setting and monitoring of operational and financial targets, and provide constructive oversight to our Chief Operating Officer and the senior operational team.
You will have a genuine enthusiasm for Horticap’s mission and student wellbeing, with a willingness to spend time engaging with our community of students, staff and volunteers.
We invite applications from individuals with professional knowledge, lived experience in business and industry or a background in the care, health or education sector. Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities would be an added bonus but is not essential.
While the role of Trustee is voluntary, our Board members gain reward from personal fulfilment by supporting a worthwhile cause, experience working within the charitable sector and support in their own personal and professional development. In addition, there is also the opportunity to partake in Horticap’s events and activities.
