Have Your Say On Plans For Flaxby Park

Consultation opens on 16 September, with a public exhibition in Goldsborough on 23 September

Harrogate District Chamber of Commerce is encouraging members and businesses across the district to take part in a public consultation on proposals for the first phase of employment development at Flaxby Park.

Scarborough Group International and Greyfriars Investments are inviting feedback on plans for land on the eastern side of the site, adjacent to the A1(M). The proposals would create a new employment destination, providing modern space for businesses alongside new landscaping, transport infrastructure and environmental improvements.

According to the consultation leaflet, the development has the potential to support around 1,075 to 2,090 jobs and deliver approximately 810,000 sq ft of modern employment space, subject to confirmation of the final proposals. The plans also include new green infrastructure and landscaping, together with a new Transport and Mobility Hub and supporting infrastructure.

The online consultation runs from Wednesday 16 September until Wednesday 7 October 2026 at flaxbypark.consultationonline.co.uk.

A public exhibition will be held on Wednesday 23 September 2026 at Goldsborough Cricket Club, Main Street, Goldsborough, Knaresborough, HG5 8NW, between 3.00pm and 7.00pm. Members of the project team will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the proposals.

Phillip Holdsworth, President of Harrogate District Chamber of Commerce, said:

"The shortage of modern, well-connected commercial space is one of the issues our members raise most often. Proposals on this scale, right next to the A1(M), deserve careful attention from businesses across Harrogate, Knaresborough and the wider district.

"We are not taking a position on the detail at this stage. What we do want is for local businesses to look at the plans, ask the questions that matter to them, and make their views known while the consultation is open. Consultations only work when the people who will live and work with the outcome actually take part.

"I would encourage anyone who can to visit the exhibition in Goldsborough on 23 September and to respond online before 7 October."

Anyone with questions about the proposals can contact the project team on Freephone 0800 066 8941 or by email at flaxbypark@consultation-online.co.uk.

The Chamber will keep members updated as the proposals develop.
