Harrogate Hospice Midnight Glow Walk Returns, with Brand New Partnership.

Saint Michael’s Hospice is thrilled to partner with Vida Healthcare, a dementia care home provider, as its headline sponsor to launch the return of the Midnight Glow Walk.

Following the success of last year’s event, which raised over £50,000 for local hospice care and saw 667 participants light up the streets of Harrogate; Saint Michael’s Hospice is excited to join forces with Vida Healthcare to make the Midnight Glow Walk bigger and better than before and aims to attract 1,000 walkers in 2025.

Saint Michael’s vital services include caring for people living with terminal illness in their own homes, and at their Hornbeam Park-based Crimple House Hospice. Specialist bereavement and emotional support service Just ‘B’ is part of their family of services, supporting children, young people, and adults across North Yorkshire.

Vida Healthcare, who have three specialist dementia care homes in Harrogate, has kindly and generously supported the event with a sponsorship deal. This will help Saint Michael’s cover the running costs and promotion of the event.

Talking about the Midnight Glow Walk and why Vida Healthcare has chosen to support the event, Bernadette Mossman, Healthcare Director said;

“On a personal note, I have lost family to cancer and long-term conditions, so for me, it's important to make sure that we support the local hospice. Being a nurse myself, I know firsthand this service is essential to our community. I think Saint Michael’s is also something people are passionate about and the Midnight Glow Walk is something they want to do to show their support.”

James Rycroft, Managing Director added: “A team from Vida Healthcare and I took part in the Midnight Glow Walk last year. It was great fun, plus the route was nice and easy. I thought it was just a positive, sort of get-together. People brought dogs, and their children and it was a friendly, inclusive event. We are looking forward to taking part again this year.

“If you look after your community, your community will look after you. You just don't know what's around the corner, so we must protect something like our local hospice, now more than ever because times are tough.”

The event returns on Saturday, September 13, and promises a lively, party-like atmosphere in celebration of the cherished moments spent with loved ones. The 10km route around Harrogate starts after dark and will have the town glowing until Midnight.

Starting and ending at Rossett School the Midnight Glow Walk kicks off at 10 pm. The route will take supporters across The Stray, around Harrogate Town Centre, and through Valley Gardens, with walkers finishing around midnight.

For a limited time only, tickets are available for just £10pp as part of an Early Bird offer, with pricing returning to £15pp from June 30th.

The event – ideal for families, couples, groups of friends, work colleagues, or even pets – can be walked in tribute to someone special, or just for the fun – and those taking part will be making a big difference to local families living with terminal illness and bereavement.

Vida Healthcare was established in 2010 with the sole purpose of designing, developing, and operating care homes for people living with dementia. Their carefully designed buildings and interiors can have a very positive impact on their residents' lifestyle and wellbeing but most importantly, Vida staff are trained to care for every person staying with them, no matter where they are on their journey with dementia. At Vida Healthcare, every individual matters, and the team ensures that no detail is overlooked.

The event hub at Rossett School opens at 8.30 pm, with pre-walk entertainment and refreshments, with the walk commencing with a staggard start from 10 pm. The event is non-competitive and is not timed, and participants are encouraged to take their time and soak up the atmosphere.
