Disability Action Yorkshire Seeks New Trustees to Join Board
Chamber member charity Disability Action Yorkshire is currently seeking passionate professionals to join its friendly and dedicated Board of Trustees.
The charity - established nearly 90 years ago - plays a vital role across the region, providing essential services such as supported housing, life skills training and employment programmes. Trustees are instrumental in shaping the strategic vision of the organisation, ensuring it continues to champion its core philosophy of "solution-finding" and empower disabled individuals to live independent lives of their own choosing.
While applications are welcome from all professional backgrounds, the charity is particularly keen to connect with individuals who possess strong expertise in Human Resources, as well as those who bring personal, lived experience of disability. For business leaders and HR professionals within the Chamber, this role offers a unique opportunity to apply your commercial acumen and strategic skills to a highly rewarding cause, ensuring the charity's governance remains robust, compliant and forward-thinking.
Joining the board means becoming part of a supportive, collaborative leadership team where your professional insights can drive tangible, positive change in the local community.
If you are ready to make a lasting impact and help guide the future of disability advocacy and care in North Yorkshire, the team would love to hear from you. For more information or to arrange an informal chat about what the role entails, please contact Disability Action Yorkshire at admin@da-y.org.uk or visit their website at www.disabilityactionyorkshire.org.uk.
