BID To Launch New Platform To Track Spend Data In The Town Thanks To Combined Authority Funding
Harrogate BID are excited to announce that they will be working with Beauclair, a system that specialises in sourcing and analysing spend data of consumers within the Harrogate BID area. This project is the outcome of a successful funding application through the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority Vibrant and Sustainable High Streets Fund.
Beauclair’s data set comes from 1.7 billion strictly anonymised UK customer debit card transactions, including ApplePay and GooglePay. The data provided is also broken down by sale values, transactions and retail sectors.
Customer profiling is also provided with the data - where consumers come from, their economic segmentation and how they spend their money. Harrogate BID can also compare the data on a national level as well as similar places in the UK.
The system allows the BID to look at high street trends and results to evidence even more return on investment on the projects we deliver, complementing the current footfall data provided by HUQ. As well as being able to understand the demographics of the people that visit and spend in Harrogate.
Bethany Allen, Harrogate BID Operations Manager said: “At the BID, we are very excited to get our heads into the new data, seeing the footfall trends in our town is great but having the spend data to go alongside it will allow us to really delve deeper.”
“We know that footfall data is important to our BID Members but this spend data will really solidify the spending patterns of our visitors and residents throughout the year, so we hope the system will very useful to all of our members.”
“We are extremely grateful to have been awarded funding from the Vibrant and Sustainable High Streets Fund through the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority to allow us to provide this system to our BID Members.
Kasia Forbes, Contracts and Relationships Officer at the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority said: “High streets are constantly changing, but they have, and always will be, hubs for our communities. That's why I'm backing community led projects across York and North Yorkshire.”
“Like the Data Intelligence Hub in Harrogate, who's investment in advanced spend data is delivering valuable insights for strategic leaders and stakeholders, enabling more informed decision-making and supporting the creation of high streets that are vibrant, resilient, and equipped to meet future needs.”
“Residents and businesses understand most what is needed in their communities, and I’m proud to be backing their plans with my Vibrant and Sustainable High Street Fund.”
Beauclair is currently used by a variety of places to track spend in their town including York, Chester and Manchester City Centre.
Harrogate BID will be send out monthly footfall and spend reports to their members around the middle of each month and will also be happy to share the data with specific partners in the town following events and key times of year.
