Accounts, Customer Service and Business Admin Apprenticeship Offer

At Harrogate College we are very proud to offer a wide range of apprenticeships that support upskilling the local community, business, accounting and customer service being some of them.

We are enrolling our next cohort of learners onto the following apprenticeships standards,

Why work with Harrogate College?

We come to you

The model will be totally work based meaning you're not releasing your apprentice for the day leaving a busy salon without support. The assessor will come to you. The assessor will set work, observe practice, complete reviews etc all in the workplace.

Access to your learners portfolio

We utilise an e-portfolio system which you will be able to access. This means that you can effectively support and mentor your apprentice with the development of their knowledge, skills and behaviours. You will also be able to see their Off the Job log, learning reviews and assignments that have been set.

Role on role off delivery

We accept learners to start at any point in the year at Harrogate College, meaning you business can respond to workflow demons more effectively.

Recruitment

If you would like to recruit for an apprentice, we can help with that too. We will advertise internally within the college, it will be advertised through our college website and externally through the Apprenticeship Service as all our vacancies are secured through this service.

Costs and Duration

Accounting and finance assessment - 12 months with 3 month end point assessment period

Customer Service Practitioner - 12 months with 3 month end point assessment period

Business Admin Assistant - 18 months with 3 month end point assessment period

If the apprentice is aged between 16-21 years old you would not have to contribute to training costs, the government would fund the whole apprenticeship.

In addition, if the apprentice is aged between 16-18 years old you would be eligible for £1000 incentive payment for taking on a young apprentice.

If the apprentice is 22yrs old+ there would be a 5% contribution payable by yourselves- between £175 - 350. This can be paid monthly or in 1 x one off payment.

However, there may-be a possibility to get the apprenticeship paid for by a local levy paying company, who could transfer funds from their levy pot. Meaning the contribution doesn’t need to be paid. This is of course something I could help with if you were interested?

Decrease in National Insurance

In April National Insurance rose for employers, by employing an apprentice there is potential to be exempt from Class 1 Contributions - for more information please visit the Gov.uk website. Paying employer National Insurance contributions for apprentices under 25 - GOV.UK
