Harrogate’s Majestic Hotel stays open for town’s NHS workers

The Doubletree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa is staying open for NHS personnel needing emergency overnight accommodation.

Working in partnership with Harrogate District Hospital, key hospital workers will be able to remain at work should anyone they live with family or others who need to self-isolate from coronavirus.

In addition to a room, the Majestic Hotel will also provide a limited room service and a Continental breakfast.

The 184-bedroom town centre hotel is now looking to extend this service to other emergency service workers, as the country begins the first of a minimum three-week “lockdown”.

Gill Venning, The Doubletree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa Hotel’s Director of Sales and Marketing said: “We are now working in partnership with the NHS and staying open in a limited capacity for those hospital staff in need of a roof over their head.

“We have already got a number of people staying with us, and as the lockdown continues we know this number is going to rise.

“We are now looking to extend this to the other emergency services as it is vital these men and women continue in their jobs, be it looking after the sick or keeping us safe in our beds at night.”
