Roy Phillips, Operations Manager at Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal, commented: “We’re delighted to be able to offer this service for the people of Ripon and the many thousands of visitors coming to the city this summer.
We are trialling this service over 5 weeks and if successful we may consider an extended service in 2020. It’s free for everyone, and we’re looking forward to welcoming even more people to Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal this summer.”
People visiting Ripon are being encouraged to get there by bus too, before jumping on the free bus to Fountains Abbey. The 36 from Leeds and Harrogate arrives in Ripon every 20 minutes, 7 days a week, and there are also connections from Boroughbridge, York and nearby villages on the York & Country 22 service Monday to Saturday.
VAMOOZ Sales and Operations Manager Rebecca Reeve-Burnett added: “It’s great to see the National Trust putting the focus on public transport as a way to get to Fountains Abbey. We’re excited to be part of the trial and will be spreading the word far and wide to help as many people as possible take advantage of this fantastic new link to a great family day out!”
