The special deal, offering return travel to the ground from stops within Harrogate for just £2 adults and £1 children, kicks off with Town’s National League home fixture against Aldershot Town on Saturday, 8 December.
The bargain fares will then be available on all home match dates, including the ladies team when the 7 is running for the remainder of the current 2018-19 season. The Harrogate Bus Company’s General Manager Keith Roebuck said: “As Harrogate’s leading bus operator, we’re always keen to maintain and grow our support to the local community.
“Harrogate Town Football Club is at the heart of the town’s sporting life, and now supporters can forget struggling with traffic queues and car parking – simply hop on the 7 and arrive at the ground refreshed and ready to cheer on Town to another victory!”
The football club is also welcoming the bus company’s initiative to offer top-value travel to its home games. Harrogate Town Managing Director, Garry Plant said: “This is an excellent idea which we hope will encourage more supporters to come and cheer on the team to success this season.
“Coming to the stadium should be all about enjoying great football, without worrying about getting there or returning home after the match. Using the bus helps keep traffic moving and is good news for the environment – this offer of reduced-price travel is a real incentive to hop on a bus and get behind Harrogate’s own football club.”
The Harrogate Bus Company’s buses on the 7 run every 30 minutes on Monday to Saturday daytimes past Harrogate Town’s CNG Stadium on Wetherby Road, with an hourly service in the evenings and on Sundays. The specially reduced fare is available to buy direct from the bus driver.
