The competition (co-ordinated by Harrogate School Sports Partnership) consisted of local qualifying rounds across the district resulting in 6 girls and 6 boys teams taking part in a finals afternoon. With the winning teams going on to represent Harrogate Town AFC in the U11’s National League Cup Competition in 2019.

“The schools finals are a celebration of all the hard work of pupils and staff within local schools. There have been some fantastic skills on show, but more importantly some excellent displays of teamwork, honesty and respect from everyone involved”.
Harrogate Town AFC Community Foundation looks to increase opportunities for young people to play sport and keep active. Working with local partner schools, to help teachers and staff to engage children in fun, enjoyable physical activity. The Foundation also delivers Premier League Primary Stars within partner school.
The collaboration with Harrogate Schools Sports Partnership is a natural one. Running 100’s of events each year, the experience and professionalism shown is something that Harrogate Town AFC is proud to be associated with.
“As a Community Football Club, we are thrilled to open our facilities and provide a memorable experience for both young people and families. We wish the best of luck to those teams lucky enough to progress through to the next round and congratulate everyone on a superb finals afternoon”.
The finals day also involved some volunteers who are part of the clubs BTEC Course in association with Harrogate College. This opportunity gave them experience of what is takes to organise a school competition in a safe and enjoyable environment.
