Harrogate District Chamber of Commerce News

We are pleased to let you know that the future of the Yorkshire Business Market has been secured through a deal with The Yorkshire Society.  This means that Brian and Beryl Dunsby, Maggie and Chris will now be able to reduce their current work load as planned in order to concentrate primarily on the highly successful Harrogate Christmas Market.

The Yorkshire Society, a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, has acquired two-thirds of the equity in Yorkshire Business Market Ltd  and has nominated Philip Bell and Andy Chaffer as Directors in place of Brian and Beryl Dunsby.   Mark Lancaster, Sales Director of Colour-it-in Ltd, will continue as a Director and a holder of one-third of the equity in YBM.

The Yorkshire Society has recognised the business promotion and networking benefits of the Yorkshire Business Market and they have plans to enhance and grow the event, both in Harrogate and ultimately across other parts of the Yorkshire Region.

The Business Market was first created by Brian Dunsby in 2005 when he was Chief Executive of the Harrogate Chamber of Trade & Commerce.  It has proved to be a very popular networking opportunity for new and smaller businesses to present themselves to each other. It has been held annually in April at the Pavilions of Harrogate for the past 14 years.

Brian and Beryl are very grateful to you and your colleagues for your strong support and practical assistance with the Yorkshire Business Market in recent years, which we hope you will continue to offer under the new owners, as their aspirations are the same - namely a low cost not-for-profit business-to-business networking and promotion opportunity for smaller businesses
