Andy, from Bedale in North Yorkshire, joined the Harrogate-based bus group a year ago after graduating from the University of Leeds’ Geography with Transport Planning Programme.
He’s now taking the fast route to success after winning promotion to become Service Delivery Manager at Transdev subsidiary The Harrogate Bus Company’s depot in Starbeck.
Andy’s journey to a new career in public transport saw him gaining valuable experience in all areas of the business, including operations, marketing, finance and engineering.
He also shadowed The Harrogate Bus Company’s General Manager Keith Roebuck, who says: “Andy is a first class addition to our team, and is bursting with ideas to deliver amazing customer service.
“I’m delighted to welcome Andy to his new role with us – he’s a very enthusiastic advocate of public transport. He has a keen eye for quality and will steer us to deliver even higher standards for our customers.”
During his training year, Andy has spent time at each of Transdev’s depots across the North in Harrogate, York, Malton, Keighley, Burnley and Blackburn, and has extended his knowledge by working alongside the bus operator’s marketing, commercial, finance and engineering teams.
His first year with the company has also taken him to other areas of the Transdev UK business, including the Dublin light rail system Luas, Merseyside-based executive taxi and private hire supplier Cabfind.com, and the UK’s first eco car hire service Green Tomato Cars in London.
In his free time Andy is a volunteer at the Wensleydale Railway in North Yorkshire – and he loves to travel, having completed a marathon tour of Europe with friends – in a van!
