Employees at Hornbeam Park are being asked if they would use a variety of bus services. The options being considered are a peak-time shuttle from Harrogate Bus Station to connect with the Harrogate Bus Company’s local routes, and direct links from further afield such as Nidderdale and Wetherby.
VAMOOZ Manager Rebecca Reeve-Burnett said: “VAMOOZ is about bringing people together to start something new like a home-to-school route or in this case a home-to-work route. We’re already working with St Aidan’s and St John Fishers Schools to establish more school routes and now we’re extending our research to Hornbeam Park.
“We’d like anyone working at Hornbeam Park or nearby to contact us and take in our survey, letting us know what sort of service and ticketing options would suit them.”
To take part in the survey, employees at Hornbeam Park should email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01423 788902.
The VAMOOZ promise – go where you choose – is about more than just new peak-time routes and is already creating trips to events and destinations at customer requests. The next trips, to Scarefest at Alton Towers, Frightwater Valley, Blackpool Illuminations and Wetherby Races have all been requested by local people.
And with clever pricing, on new regular services as well as trips to destinations, the more people that book onto a trip the less it costs for everyone.
Alex Hornby, Chief Executive of Transdev Blazefield, commented: “VAMOOZ is our way of offering on-demand travel and the way we price our tickets for VAMOOZ trips means that everyone on-board saves money as each new person signs up. It’s the first time that this sort of crowd-funding has been brought to the transport industry and we’ve been shortlisted for two major industry awards.
“It makes good sense for us, with our local network in Harrogate, to use VAMOOZ to try and build new routes here as well as across the region.
