VAMOOZ, the unique crowdfunded bus service from Transdev, is launching its all-new service today by providing travel from Harrogate, Leeds and Calderdale to Sunday’s One Love Manchester benefit concert for just £1.
Those who secured tickets for the gig – which sold out today within 20 minutes of going on general sale – can book return travel on dedicated buses through VAMOOZ for the event.
All fares for the buses will be donated to the Red Cross’ Manchester Emergency Fund, to support families of the 22 people who lost their lives in the terrorist attack at the Manchester Arena last Monday.
Fans who attended last Monday’s Ariana Grande show at the Manchester Arena can register for free admission to this Sunday’s concert until 2pm this Thursday – meaning that many from Yorkshire will want to travel to the concert at short notice.
VAMOOZ Sales and Operations Manager Rebecca Reeve-Burnett said: "By launching our crowdfunded bus trips with this very special service to Manchester, we hope to make travel direct to the concert easy for those already holding tickets to the concert.
"Our VAMOOZ mobile app is really easy to use and provides instant booking and a mobile travel ticket for the special buses, which will pick up on Sunday afternoon at Harrogate and Leeds bus stations, and also at Ainley Top near Junction 24 of the M62 for our Calderdale customers. They’ll run straight to the Emirates Old Trafford stadium for the event, and bring everyone home afterwards.
"Only those who already have admission tickets for the One Love Manchester concert can book travel with us, and they’ll need to show both their concert tickets and VAMOOZ mobile travel tickets when boarding the buses."
Booking travel on the VAMOOZ special buses is as simple as A-B-C:
A: Download the VAMOOZ App from the Apple App Store or Google Play
B: Select the One Love Manchester trip from Yorkshire and follow the instructions to book travel
C: Turn up at the time stated on your mobile ticket and ride!
